Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. On October 21, 2016, she released Pho, her first EP under the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she first gained the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music online in the year 2012, when she released her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, she released new music through the internet including Bound. Sweat It is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time, wanted to have her work on Rihanna references. On the 8th of December that she had signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat is one of the songs she co-wrote with Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. On October 21, 2016 her debut EP was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was joined by EarthGang. In 2018 she went on to be a guest on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream from Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music video followed then followed by a short video in September. She released her second single Grampa on November 9. In November 13, she came out with two additional singles, One and Pedigree. One as well as Pedigree. She was featured with Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16, and then she released the song as a single by herself for the album she released her debut. In February of 2019, the video music for this song was released. The song has received more than 3 million YouTube views in just one week. The singer was a part of the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December the year 2018.
